Erik ten Hag makes stance on taking Newcastle or Man Utd job clear with new statement[/b]
Erik ten Hag has been linked with the Manchester United job after the 5-0 drubbing by Liverpool on Sunday.[/b]
Erik ten Hag's stock is only rising higher as he develops his young Ajax side into one of the best in the continent. However, having been linked with the vacant Newcastle United job last week and Manchester United's job on Sunday night after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted it was "the darkest day" of his managerial career, the Dutchman has reiterated the challenge he wants to continue at Ajax.
The Dutch outfit have been in superb form this season, winning eight of their 10 Eredivisie games, alongside winning all three of their Champions League games - the most impressive result being a 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.
Their 5-0 win over league rivals PSV Eindhoven last night sparked further media interest in Ten Hag, who has managed Utrecht, Bayern Munich II and Go Ahead Eagles in the past.
But the Haaksbergen-born manager has insisted he is committed to the challenge that awaits in the capital.

“When I extended my contract with Ajax, I said: 'I think we have a team that we can develop'.
"We want to annoy the European top teams. We're on our way, let me put it this way.
Ten Hag has become one of the favourites for the Newcastle and Man Utd jobs
"We have to move on. In October, November and December you win nothing. We must keep the pressure up."
The links to Newcastle formed after the Magpies were linked with a move for Marc Overmars - the former Arsenal winger - as their director of football, a position he currently occupies for Ajax.
It remains to be seen whether Overmars would move to Newcastle, but it was rumoured that if he was to go then Ten Hag would follow him.
However, the manager seems settled, acknowledging he hasn't had a conversation with Overmars on the matter.
He continued: "Marc hasn't informed me. I don't think he's withholding anything from me either.
"I'm not working on and now is definitely not the time."
Newcastle remain in the relegation zone after they could only muster a 1-1 draw away at fellow strugglers Crystal Palace.
The Magpies are three points adrift of safety having not won a single game this season.
And the managerless outfit will look to rectify that albeit against Chelsea on Saturday.
